Now these are the coffee recipes I love – coffee drink recipes – especially iced coffee! An iced coffee in the morning is what gets me through the day… and this article includes my very favorite – a recipe for Vietnamese Iced Coffee, now that’s a real treat!!

One of the many advantages of drinking a beverage both ancient and international is the delightful variety of recipes for enjoying coffee in different ways.

Caribbean, Mexican mocha, Cuban cubano and Grog are only a few out of an endless list of possibilities.

Caribbean Coconut Coffee Recipe

The first is one of the more unusual, but be daring. Start by baking a coconut for thirty minutes at 300F (134C). Remove and allow to cool, then break open the shell and remove the inner flesh and grate. Mix the meat, coconut milk and a half cup of cow’s milk in a pan and heat until it thickens. Then strain the mixture to remove the coconut granules. Mix the mixture with a cup of coffee and sip. Hmm…

Vietnamese Iced Coffee Recipe

…The iced coffee drink of Vietnam is not to be missed. Acquire a Vietnamese coffee press. The hard part is now over. Put the ground coffee in the press, then pour a tablespoon of condensed milk into the bottom of a cup. Pour boiling water over the press and let drip. Stir and add ice. Wow!

Lovers of the drink know how delicious that liquid dream can be. But delights abound in using coffee as an ingredient in food preparation too.

While commonly used in desserts – and we’ll look at a couple – the uses of coffee aren’t limited to sweets. Barbecue sauces and glazes for meat, chili and even pot roasts benefit from a dash of the ground bean.

In any recipe, freshness is essential, so either buy freshly ground or grind your own and use right away. And if the recipe calls for brewed coffee, make it just before preparing the dish with good filtered water. And remember, most recipes call for coffee two or three times as strong as you’d want to drink.

Here are only a few of the many possibilities…

Espresso Brownies

To make brownies surpassing even Alice B. Toklas’, try this one.

Heat a cup of sugar, a quarter teaspoon of salt, and a stick and a half of butter in a sauce pan. Add a teaspoon of vanilla and four ounces of chopped, semi-sweet chocolate and stir until well melted. Now add a tablespoon of your favorite finely ground dark-roast. For an interesting variation substitute with two teaspoons of espresso granules.

Stir until everything is well mixed, then transfer to a mixing bowl and let cool for a few minutes.

While still warm, fold in three eggs, a cup of flour and pour the result into a baking pan. Bake for 30 minutes and set out to cool. Yum!

(ARA) Everyday, millions of Americans start their morning with a freshly brewed cup of coffee. Whether you take it with cream and sugar, or prefer it black, sipping on a blend of coffee beans is a ritual that graces household after household. But this holiday season, while entertaining or just cozying up by a warm fire, adding a little spice to your coffee concoctions will leave you and your guests begging for another cup.

Obtaining the best tasting coffee for your holiday coffee specialties is the first step to an amazing palate pleaser. This begins by ensuring that your coffee maker is in tiptop shape to receive the incoming coffee grounds. Hidden lime deposits can build up in your automatic drip coffee maker, adding unwanted flavor. An excellent way to remove this build up is liquid DIP-IT. This cleanser removes deposits better than vinegar and water and doesn’t leave your kitchen saturated with unpleasant odors. For the removal of food and beverage stains from metal, porcelain, plasticware and glass, DIP-IT powdered stain remover will help your kitchenware and countertops shine.

Once you’ve cleared out any unwanted additions from the coffeepot, your holiday brewing can begin with the delicious recipes below.

As the leaves fall and Jack Frost settles in for the winter, coffee drinkers are sure to seek warmth from their daily cup of Joe. So add a little splash of warm cheer to the cool air and to your coffee mug, and celebrate Mother Nature’s chilly side.

Harvest Coffee Cider

¼ cup coffee grounds

¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon

¼ cup brown sugar or honey

1 cup apple juice

3 cups cold water

Place coffee and cinnamon in brew basket of coffee maker. Place sugar and apple juice in the bottom of the coffee pot. Add water to coffee maker and brew. When brewing is complete, stir until well mixed. This recipe tends to be a little messy, so using powder DIP-IT is especially helpful when cleaning the stains off your carafe and brewing basket and for always attaining the best tasting coffee. For cleaning the water circulation system, use the liquid form.

While watching children sled down snow covered hills and delight in their snowmen creations, enjoy a cup of Eggnog Coffee from inside. This holiday treat will melt the coldest hands and please your taste buds as well.
